Go back to old opportunities that didn’t progress through your pipeline, free trial sign-ups you couldn’t connect with, and leverage this to have conversations with new prospects at these companies.
As an AE and sales leader, you always want to do this in the second half of the year. The question is whether you have the time, system, and tools in place to execute. You may even get FOMO if you don’t.
Traditionally, this would be a pretty tedious process:
1. run reports in your CRM.
2. dig into each opportunity or lead to manually reviewing past notes.
3. write and send all of the emails.
4. research and identify additional prospects at these companies.
5. write and send all of the emails.
Using Clay, we can do this much faster:
1. run reports in your CRM.
2. export and upload them to your Clay table.

Reviving Old Opportunities
You’ll want to create a report of closed lost opportunities in your CRM to revive previous opportunities.
Include columns for opportunity details such as:
associated contacts
notes
close date
close lost reason
Also include other unique opportunity information typically captured in your CRM. This can include their current solution, when their renewal is, and other specific details.
Now, quickly export this report as a CSV from your CRM and upload it to Clay.
In Clay, you can use ChatGPT or Claude to quickly write personalized emails to these contacts based on your opportunity notes and other deal information.
Then export the emails to your sequencer and send them.
Re-engaging Past Free Trial Sign-Ups
This time, you want to run a report in your CRM on past free trial signups.
Include columns for your contacts' details and other information captured during the free trial process, such as when they signed up.
It’s common in SaaS to ask prospects for their role, use cases, integrations, and more during the signup process.
Next, export this data as a CSV from your CRM and upload it into Clay.
Optionally, you can use Clay to find additional data on these prospects.
Then, use ChatGPT or Claude to quickly write personalized emails to these prospects based on the following:
When they signed up
Information captured during the sign-up process
Other data you’ve found with Clay.
Finally, export the emails to your sequencer and hit send.
Expanding Outreach to New Prospects at These Accounts
A couple of weeks ago, we discussed using Clay to expand your accounts and opportunities faster.
Here’s the TL;DR:
Quickly identify relevant contacts.
Track key company and personal changes.
Focus on strategy with Clay’s automated research and data.
Run personalized outreach campaigns at scale for more conversations.
By using this formula, you can take advantage of previous opportunities and free trials to have more conversations with these companies.
To improve engagement, you can mention specific people, use information you've learned about projects and goals, and pique curiosity.

Each email will be tailored to past opportunities or free trial sign-ups from the companies you are reaching out to.
You can do this while you watch football this Sunday and schedule the emails in your sequencer to be sent out next week, Monday through Friday.
