2.1 We’re back: Clay Hacker, Version 2
Scaling pipeline efficiently without adding headcount in 2025.
Welcome back to Clay Hacker.
Hey,
Thank you for being subscribed to Clay Hacker. I started this newsletter last year to help others and myself learn more about Clay as it burst onto the GTM scene. It was a promising new tool for improving prospecting at scale, but it was hard to learn and implement.
Since then, Clay has evolved as a company and tool, as has the entire ecosystem. In addition to Clay, sales tech stacks commonly include Instantly, Smartlead, HeyReach, ChatGPT, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Findmail, and many others.
It’s been a while since the last Clay Hacker newsletter (September, to be exact). I was heads down in a full-time Enterprise Account Executive role at a Series C AI startup, enjoying time with my family, and reimagining what Clay Hacker can be.
During this time and other startup experiences, I’ve learned how challenging it is for SaaS startups to scale their outbound sales process by themselves. Hiring SDR and outbound sales teams is expensive, and they’re challenging to manage.
Many startups raise millions in venture capital to burn it on adding headcount without an effective pipeline generation strategy, wondering why their Account Executives aren’t hitting quota.
Fast forward to today. The economy is uncertain, technology is evolving rapidly, and startups need to grow more efficiently. This is why Clay Hacker is back with the newsletter and much more to help SaaS startups scale their revenue more efficiently, leveraging Clay, AI, and the modern sales tech.
If you’re a SaaS startup asking yourself the following questions recently, let’s get in touch:
How do we scale outbound sales without adding headcount?
How do we set up a cold email infrastructure that won’t hurt our primary domain?
How do we use Clay to automate research and personalization?
How do we automate LinkedIn outreach?
How do we scrape and run campaigns from LinkedIn Sales Navigator?
How do we automate triggers like job changes, news, LinkedIn posts, and more?
If you’ve been asking these questions, contact me to see if Clay Hacker can help.
Next week, we’ll return with more strategies and tips to scale your GTM more efficiently. Let me know if there’s anything specific you’d like me to cover next week.
Sincerely,
Dave Murphy
